Sandyhills Bay Holiday Park is a small, privately-owned park on the Solway coast of Dumfries and Galloway, on the A710 between Rockcliffe and Dalbeattie. The park joined the Gillespie Leisure Group in 1983 and has been quietly improving on the same piece of ground ever since. The park’s plots sit on and immediately behind the dune line of Sandyhills Bay itself, an award-winning sandy beach that is, by some distance, the group’s single most distinctive piece of ground.

Beachfront ownership plots on the Scottish coast are scarce to the point of rare. Sandyhills is one of a very small number of parks in south-west Scotland where the word “beachfront” means what it says. Owners here tend to be people who want the tide audible from the kitchen window, families with small children who can be out of the door and on the sand before anyone’s found their shoes, and dog walkers who’d rather start from the sand than load the car. If that sounds more appealing than a pool and a games room, Sandyhills will make sense to you.

Site Fees at Sandyhills Bay

Site fees at Sandyhills Bay are handled the same plain way they are at every Gillespie Leisure park: one clear annual figure covering your pitch, park upkeep and full use of what’s on site. You can choose either a 7-month or 12-month season depending on how you’d like to use the park. Nothing buried in small print. No surprise line items at renewal. If you’ve owned at a bigger chain park and been burned by escalating costs, the difference at Sandyhills is easy to feel: smaller park, simpler numbers, more honest conversation.
